Effects of Gibberellic acid (GA3) on shelf life and physiochemical properties of mango (Mangifera indica L. var Bombay green)

The present study investigated the effect of GA3 on physicochemical properties and shelf life mango (Mangifera indica L. var. Bombay green) from 31st May 2022 to 8th June at Central Laboratory GPCAR collage Gothgaun, Morang, Nepal. study's goal was find right gibberellic acid concentration use in mangoes that were collected a mature stage delay fruit ripening, preserve quality, lengthen life. experiment laid out Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments four replications. Mature freshly harvested fruits uniform size dipped into an aqueous solution 0 ppm (T1), 100 (T2), 200 (T3), 300 (T4) 400 (T5) for 10 minutes. Data parameters (mango pulp pH, total soluble solids, titratable acidity, physiological weight loss, life) statistically analyzed through biochemical analyses. Further, treated GA3; resulted lowest loss (22.08%), minimum pH (5.02), acidity (0.14%) day after storage. highest solid (19.85°B) recorded @400ppm, while solids (16.90°B) control Fruits had longest (7.17 days), GA shortest (7.19 days). Therefore, best results obtained when applied ppm, which extended physiochemical traits fruits.
